KAMPALA-The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Financial Sectoral Committee began its two-day budgeting session on Saturday, January 4, 2025. The session, scheduled to end on Sunday, January 5, 2025, is part of the preparation for the UMSC financial year 2025 budget, which will be presented to the UMSC General Assembly in mid-January 2025.
The committeee, chaired by Hon. Dr. Abdu-Wahid Ijosiga, engaged in productive discussions with Hon. Haji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, the UMSC Secretary General. Among the key topics was the proposed Revenue Enhancement Plan, which outlines strategies to improve financial management. The plan emphasizes financial hygiene through the consolidation of internal controls, focusing on three critical pillars: assurance, risk management, and compliance.
The committee has successfully compiled and consolidated departmental budgets into a comprehensive budget framework.
Hon. Muluubya further informed members that other UMSC organs are scheduled to conduct their business in the coming days, ahead of the General Assembly next week.
