KAMPALA– As Uganda Law Society is left with a few days to the extra ordinary meeting, scheduled to be held in Entebbe next month, the chief Justice has issued orders to all courts of Judicature.
“The Hon. Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo has granted permission for Courts across the country to officially adjourn all matters only where advocates are involved, in order for the advocates to participate in the event.” Reads part of the circular issued by Sarah Langa Siu, the Chief Registrar.
However, being a working day, Dollo ordered that Courts should continue to hear cases that are not affected by the absence of advocates. “The cause lists for the day should therefore be adjusted accordingly.”
On Monday this week, Eddie Nangulu, the interim honorary Secretary of ULS , announced that the Association will hold it’s extra ordinary meeting on 17th December 2024 , Imperial Resort Beach Entebbe.
Among the major key issues to be discussed will include the fate of Philip Munaabi (Secretary General) and Turyamusiima Geoffrey ( Council member for Central region) who were recently suspended from office for misconduct.
