KAMPALA UGANDA- A renowned children’s choir from Uganda is set to visit Holbrook Academy in Suffolk, continuing a decade-long cultural exchange between the school and Destiny Africa.
Destiny Africa, a performing arts group from Kampala, will spend a week at Holbrook Academy, sharing traditional Ugandan music and dance with students.
The visit, which begins this week, marks the latest chapter in a relationship that began in 2009.
The choir, comprising children from Kampala Children’s Centre, a charity supporting vulnerable children, will culminate their visit with two special performances.
Shows are scheduled at the Royal Hospital School on October 16 and at Holbrook Academy on October 17.
Frank Antsee-Parry, deputy headteacher at Holbrook Academy, praised Destiny Africa’s “vibrant and inspiring” performances.
“Since 2009, Destiny Africa has brought immense joy to our school and community,” he said. “Their workshops provide our students with a unique cultural experience.”
Destiny Africa’s visit aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange between Ugandan and British students.
