Katakwi, Uganda – Vice President Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo has commended Stanbic Bank for its commitment to Uganda’s economic growth and community transformation.
Speaking at an event where Stanbic donated medical equipment worth UGX35 million to Katakwi General Hospital, Alupo said the bank’s support is “a beacon of hope” for quality healthcare.
The donation includes patient beds, delivery beds, patient monitors, a baby incubator, and Mama kits.
Joseph Emuron, Katakwi General Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, described the donation as timely, citing shortages and expensive referrals to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital.
Alupo acknowledged Uganda’s healthcare challenges but expressed optimism that corporate support can address them.
Stanbic Bank’s Head of Corporate Social Investment, Diana Ondoga, said the donation is part of their October L.O.V.E month campaign, focusing on education, maternal health, and environment.
The bank has donated maternal equipment to 45 health facilities this year.
