The 3rd Uganda-Kenya Coast Tourism Conference, Exhibition, Excursions, and Fam trip, scheduled for November 9th to 21st, 2024, in Kampala, Uganda, aims to further boost tourism cooperation between the two destinations.

Building on the success of previous conferences, this year’s event seeks to promote job creation, inclusiveness, and sustainability in the tourism sector, while showcasing the unique attractions of Uganda and the Kenya Coast.

The conference will bring together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, and government officials, to discuss ways to enhance the partnership and increase tourist arrivals.

Key topics on the agenda include investment opportunities, sustainability, and addressing bottlenecks in promoting regional tourism. The event will also feature a golf tournament, B2B networking sessions, exhibitions, and excursions to tourism sites in Uganda and the Kenya Coast.

The partnership between Uganda and the Kenya Coast has already shown significant results, with Uganda being the second-largest source market for Kenya and Kenya being the largest source market for Uganda.

The conference is expected to develop a strategy for joint promotion, increase tourist arrivals and investments, and enhance knowledge about tourism products in both destinations.

A familiarization trip to the Kenya Coast is also planned for November 27th to December 6th, 2024, to give participants a firsthand experience of the region’s tourism offerings.

This event marks a significant step towards promoting regional tourism and economic growth between Uganda and the Kenya Coast, and is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism industry in both countries.

By working together, Uganda and the Kenya Coast can offer tourists a unique and diverse experience, combining the best of both destinations. The conference is a crucial step towards realizing this vision and promoting sustainable tourism development in the region.
