The Ugandan government, as part of the National Roads Development and Maintenance Programme, is funding the upgrade of the Kyaliwajjala-Kira-Kasangati-Matugga Road and five key junctions.
The project aims to enhance traffic flow within and around Kampala and Wakiso districts, improve connections to major trunk roads, including the Bombo and Jinja Highways, and improve road safety, reducing accidents and casualties.
The contractor, Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO), is responsible for completing the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The government has extended its appreciation to the local leaders and community for their support and calls for continued cooperation to allow the contractor to carry out road works without interruption.
This project is a significant investment in Uganda’s road network, aligning with the government’s commitment to sustainable development and economic growth.
