KAMPALA, UGANDA – The Electoral Commission of Uganda has launched a massive nationwide recruitment drive to hire over 12,000 election officers, as the country prepares for the crucial 2026 general elections.
The recruitment drive, announced through an authenticated media advert, aims to fill critical positions at the grassroots level to ensure the smooth conduct of the polls.
Key Positions:
- 1,300 Sub-County Election Officers
- 10,717 Parish Electoral Officers
Eligibility Criteria:
- Valid National Identity Card (NIN)
- Handwritten or typed application
- Detailed CV and testimonials
- Specification of area of jurisdiction
Application Process:
Interested applicants must submit their applications to the District Election Administrator in their respective districts. The deadline for submission is November 4, 2024.
Commission’s Objective:
The Electoral Commission seeks to ensure effective management of electoral activities across Uganda’s grassroots structures, guaranteeing efficient and transparent electoral processes.
“The recruitment of these election officers is critical to the success of the 2026 polls,” said an Electoral Commission spokesperson. “We urge eligible Ugandans to apply and contribute to the democratic process.”
