Stanbic Bank (Uganda) Limited has appointed Kenneth Ogwang, Head of Digital and Technology at Diageo and East African Breweries Limited (EABL), to its board as an Independent Non-Executive Director effective January 2024. Kenneth joins other board members chaired by Damoni Kitabire.
Kenneth is currently Diageo’s Head of Digital and Technology for Eastern and Southern Africa based at the EABL offices in Nairobi, Kenya. He has over 20 years experience in the IT Industry having worked in Uganda, Kenya, DR Congo and South Africa. Prior to joining Diageo, Kenneth worked at British American Tobacco (BAT) across multiple roles and countries.
He has been recognized as a transformative leader in IT in the region. He won the 2016 CIO of the Year Award by dx5ve (formerly CIO Africa) for implementation of a distributor management system for KBL. In 2019, he was nominated to the East Africa CIO Hall of Fame for contributions to the development of IT within the region. In 2022, he was recognized by SOMA awards as one of the top 25 men in digital technology in the region.
The St Mary’s College, Kisubi (SMACK) alumnus graduated with a first-class honors degree in Statistics (Computing) from Makerere University Kampala (MUK) and obtained a Masters in Business Administration (Strategy) from United States International University (USIU) in Kenya.
Kenneth is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya
