The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has directed the transfer of Abdalla Tumusiime, a traffic officer whose commitment to duty during a heavy downpour has earned widespread public admiration, to the Parliamentary Police Directorate.
Tumusiime gained national attention after a video of him controlling traffic in the rain went viral on social media at Mawanda Road-John Babiiha Road intersection.
Despite the downpour, Tumusiime ensured smooth traffic flow, preventing congestion and earning praise for his resilience and dedication.
In response to his exemplary service, Speaker Among ordered his transfer, recognizing his efforts and highlighting the importance of rewarding outstanding public service.
On her X page, speaker Anita praised this police officer for his exceptional commitment and dedication.
“I want to take a moment to applaud Police Officer Tusiime Abdallah, who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, character, and dedication over the years in carrying out his duties. We salute his service to the nation.” She Said
Yesterday, Tumusiime was recognised at police headquarters by the police spokes person Rusoke Kituuma who conveyed the Inspector General of Police’s message of appreciation for his patriotic spirit. Rusoke noted that this traffic officer’s positive attitude will be recognized and rewarded.
“He demonstrated remarkable dedication to his responsibilities, and we have received numerous reports praising his enthusiasm and commitment to duty. His positive attitude will be recognized and rewarded,” police spokes person said.
Tumusiime continues to experience God’s blessings, as yesterday the ICT Minister, Monica Musenero, promised to pay the school fees for his children.
