Singer Eddy Kenzo on Monday, 14 November 2022 broke down before journalists at a press conference, claiming that some saboteurs were after his life.
Despite hosting what many say was a successful music show that took place on Saturday 12th November 2022 at Kololo Independence grounds, Kenzo told journalists on Monday that some people nearly stopped the concert and also blocked some of his international artistes from attending.
“My life is in danger. There are several people who want to kill me. I can’t take this anymore,” he said before dropping the microphone.
Kenzo said some people, who included Luba Events, had secured a court order to block the concert.
“They in-boxed the foreign artistes and told them not to come to Uganda or would be arrested by the authorities,” he said
However, he said he made some phone calls to the big shots in government and the show went on unhindered.
Despite Kenzo’s claims, his show was attended by prominent politicians, Including Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, who took to the stage to join the Sitya Loss singer as he performed.
The mega concert also saw top African artists perform the likes of Harmonize from Tanzania, Bruce Melodie from Rwanda, Mampi from Zambia and so many others.
Kenzo thanked his fans for turning up in such huge numbers where he vowed and promised to give them more good music.
The BET 2026 winner also used the opportunity to ask all Ugandans artists to support each other and avoid unnecessary rifts between each other that tarnish the image of the industry.
Eddy Kenzo is seen by many as the most popular Ugandan artist especially on the African continent and world over because of his unique ways of doing things.
This comes weeks after Gravity Omutujju also cried at a post-concert press conference. And like at the Gravity presser, there was someone to pat Kenzo’s back as he cried. Surely, after the music comes the drama.
