The I-Trap system is designed to provide a safer, more hygienic toilet experience, addressing the pressing challenges of poor sanitation in vulnerable areas.

By enhancing waste management and reducing health risks, SATO Uganda aims to contribute significantly to public health and environmental sustainability.

Timothy Kayondo, a leader at SATO Uganda, stated at the launch event at Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala that the introduction of the SATO 1-Trap Toilet Connection System aims to provide innovative solutions for cleaner, safer, and more accessible sanitation, particularly benefiting families, especially women and children.

“We are committed to empowering people to live better lives through innovative sanitation and hygiene solutions. Our philosophy is to innovate with the end user in mind whilst driving the global sustainability agenda,” Kayongo said.

Kayongo noted this innovative solution minimizes odours and effectively keeps flies and other vectors away, ensuring a more hygienic environment.

He added that it supports the usage of less water per flush compared to traditional toilet systems, contributing to water conservation efforts.

“The SATO I-Trap Toilet Connection System is designed to improve sanitation standards across Uganda, offering numerous benefits that set it apart from conventional toilet systems. The product has an advanced design that minimizes odors and effectively keeps flies and other vectors away, ensuring a more hygienic environment, it is cost-effective, easy to install, and maintain, and is built to last, reduces the security risks associated with distant latrines and can be easily adapted to conventional porcelain toilet systems.” He added.

Eng. Sam Mutono, the chairman National Sanitation Working Group, hailed SATO Uganda for this new innovative sanitation solution and urged them to have good sales people who will market their product well since it’s new on the market.

“We need to have good sales people with communication skills, sailing skills and you can follow them and have some very good relationship with the community.” He said

Mutono urged the government and its partners to support and finance this innovative initiative aimed at closing the sanitation gap.

“The government and other government partners needs to channel resources to private sector actors who bring products and services through the households at affordable prices.” Eng Mutono said.

To support the adoption of this innovative product, SATO Uganda is conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for masons and plumbers across the country. These sessions aim to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge to provide excellent support to customers. The SATO I-Trap system is now available at Nice House of Plastics agents and leading hardware stores nationwide.
