Rt. Rev. Dr. Constantine Rupiny has been consecrated and installed as the 5th Bishop of Nebbi Catholic Diocese in a ceremony held at Nebbi Cathedral.
Archbishop Raphael P’mony Wokorach presided over the consecration, joined by Uganda’s Apostolic Nuncio, Rt. Rev. Luigi Bianco, in leading the Holy Mass. The ceremony reached its pinnacle when Apostolic Nuncio Rt. Rev. Luigi Bianco read the decree from Pope Francis, confirming Bishop Rupiny’s appointment.
Bishop Rupiny was presented with the instruments of service, symbolizing his spiritual authority and dedication to guiding the faithful. The solemn laying of hands by fellow bishops followed, signifying apostolic succession and continuity within the Church.
Uganda’s Vice President, Rt. Major Jessica Alupo, and the State Minister for Minerals, Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, were among the dignitaries in attendance, underscoring their support for the Church’s mission.
As the new bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Constantine Rupiny, embarks on his spiritual leadership journey, he ushers in a new chapter for the Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
