Makindye -On Wednesday, the State House Anti Corruption Unit working Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), arraigned before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court, Kiwanuka Jackson on charges of conspiracy to defraud.

On appearing in court, Kiwanuka denied all the charges against him and the state prosecutor handling the matter informed court that investigations are still under way , thereby asking for an adjournment.
The acused was remanded to Luzira Prison until 25th adjourned to April 2025.
The Prosecution contends that in March 2023, Kiwanuka conspired with Police Constable Katungi Alex, an officer attached to the Environmental Protection Police Unit under the Ministry of Water and Environment to fraudulently obtain land from a victim, Mutebi John Baptist.
PC Katungi allegedly threatened to evict Mutebi from his land, located near a wetland, if he did not agree to give him a portion of it. Under duress, Mutebi consented to surrendering a portion of his land to PC Katungi, who then facilitated the transfer of ownership into the name of Kiwanuka. However, no payment was made to Mutebi for the land.
PC Katungi was previously charged and remanded until April 25, 2025 for demanding money with menaces.
