KAMPALA, Uganda — President Yoweri Museveni is set to embark on a week-long tour of the Lango sub-region, aiming to promote wealth creation and assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model program.
The tour, which begins on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, will take Museveni to various parts of the sub-region, where he will interact with local leaders, farmers, and other stakeholders. The President is expected to use the tour to gauge the impact of his government’s wealth creation initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
During the tour, Museveni will visit selected farmers to assess the implementation and impact of wealth-creation programs in the region. He will also launch the Presidential Zonal Industrial Hub, a flagship project aimed at spurring industrial growth and providing employment opportunities for local communities.
In addition to meeting with local leaders and the Lango sub-region media fraternity, Museveni will hold a public rally where he will engage with the community and outline ongoing government initiatives focused on wealth creation.
The Parish Development Model program, which aims to improve household incomes, is a key component of the government’s efforts to deliver socio-economic transformation, particularly in rural areas. Museveni’s tour comes as the government doubles its efforts to promote wealth creation and industrialization in the region.
The Lango sub-region, known for its agricultural potential, is expected to benefit significantly from the initiatives to be discussed and implemented during the President’s visit. Local leaders and residents have been urged to participate in the tour and engage with the President on issues affecting their communities.
The tour is part of Museveni’s broader efforts to take his government’s programs and policies to the people, and to ensure that the benefits of economic growth and development are shared equitably among all Ugandans.
