KAMPALA, UGANDA – President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Professor Moses Muhwezi as the new substantive Principal of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) for a five-year term, effective immediately.
“In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Article 172(1) of the Constitution of Uganda, I hereby appoint Professor Moses Muhwezi as Principal of Makerere University Business School,” the presidential instrument reads.
Professor Muhwezi, who has been serving as interim leader since Professor Wasswa Balunywa’s contract expired, brings a wealth of experience to the role, holding a PhD in Public Procurement.
Professor Moses Muhwezi is a renowned academic and leader who has made significant contributions to the field of business education. He holds a PhD in Public Procurement, an MBA in Accounting and Finance, and a degree in Bachelor of Commerce.
Before becoming the Principal of MUBS, Professor Muhwezi served as the Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration and Deputy Principal of MUBS.
As the Principal of MUBS, Professor Muhwezi aims to continue enhancing the institution’s academic programs, including postgraduate degrees such as Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting & Finance, and Master of Science in Human Resource Management.
MUBS boasts regional campuses in Arua, Jinja, Mbale, and Mbarara, providing opportunities for students across Uganda and East Africa.
Professor Muhwezi’s official appointment marks a new chapter in the institution’s growth and development.
