Kampala, Uganda – The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, John Mulimba, has received Letters of Credence from Maria Gema, the new country representative of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), during a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Mulimba welcomed Ms. Gema, emphasizing Uganda’s appreciation for MSF’s long-standing partnership in providing critical healthcare services to vulnerable regions.
“Uganda deeply values its collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières, which has been instrumental in delivering critical healthcare services,” Mr. Mulimba said.
Ms. Gema expressed gratitude for the warm reception and outlined MSF’s continued mission in Uganda, pledging to support the country’s healthcare needs, particularly in emergency medical services, maternal health, and disease outbreak response.
“We are honored to be part of Uganda’s health journey,” Ms. Gema said. “MSF remains committed to serving communities most in need, ensuring access to essential medical services, and working in partnership with the Ugandan government.”
The meeting highlighted MSF’s critical role in delivering emergency medical services during times of crisis and discussed future collaboration areas, focusing on enhancing Uganda’s capacity to respond to public health emergencies.
Uganda’s partnership with international organizations like MSF is crucial in achieving national development goals in the health sector.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a conducive environment for international partnerships.
