Manchester United fans, eager to catch a glimpse of their goalkeeper André Onana, forced their way into the stadium.
Onana was in Uganda playing for Cameroon, as Kampala hosted a game between Cameroon and Zimbabwe due to Zimbabwe’s home grounds being deemed substandard by CAF.

The fans, unable to secure tickets online and frustrated by the absence of physical tickets at the gates, broke the padlocks to gain entry. Once inside, they enthusiastically chanted “Onana, Onana” and celebrated with joy, clad in Manchester United jerseys and holding placards. Their excitement grew louder and more fervent as they joined other fans who had entered the stadium earlier.
Despite the match ending in a goalless draw, the fans continued their chants and celebrations, undeterred by the result. After the game, Onana showed his appreciation for the fans’ support by gifting them his gloves, shoes, and socks, further fueling their excitement.
However, the situation became challenging when the Cameroon players’ bus attempted to depart the stadium. Hundreds of fans waited as Onana made his way out, clamouring to get near the Premier League star. Security struggled to clear a path through the crowds, eager to catch another glimpse of Onana. To resolve the situation, security placed Onana in a separate car and drove him away, leaving the other Cameroon players on the bus.
Uganda has a significant number of Manchester United supporters, making it the most supported English club in the country and globally, due to its long-term dominance and exciting football history.
