MENGO -Mwanga ii Magistrates Court has withdrawn charges against Naluwenda Milly clerk to Kisekwa Court (Buganda Cultural court) who has been facing charges of murdering Lwomwa Bbossa, Ndiga clan head with five others.
This has followed the Nolle Prosequi signed by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Jane Frances Abodo on 23rd October 2024, presented to court by Chief State Attorney Lilian Omara.
This has been admitted on court record by Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Adam Byaruhanga at Mwanga II (trial Magistrate) who has ordered for the immediate release of Naluwenda unless she is held on other lawful charges.
Naluwenda was arrested in February this year she has spent over seven months in detention.
Earlier on , after being arrested, Luggya Bbosa Tabula, the key suspect in the murder case, in his extra Judicial statement recorded at Buganda road , confessed having killed Lwomwa and asked authorities to exonerate Naluwenda who was not part of the plot since her only role was to inform him about the news.
Other accused persons in this mattern iclude: Harriet Nakiguli, a resident of Nkere Corner Zone in Kawempe Division; Joseph Nakabale, a carpenter from Gala, Mpigi Town Council; Ezra Mayanja, a carpenter from Kiganda Zone in Kawempe.
The prosecution alleges that on February 24, 2024, at Kikandwa Village in Lugunjja, Lubaga division, Tabula unlawfully caused the death of Daniel Bbosa.
