KAMPALA– A day to the elections, Kenneth Kipaalu , one of the three contenders in the race for Presidency of Uganda Law Society (ULS) on Thursday evening decided to step aside.
“After careful consideration and thorough reflection on the ongoing campaign, I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for the Presidency of the Uganda Law Society ( ULS).” Reads part of Kipaalu’s statement.
He has added that despite of his withdrawal from the race, he remains committed to his values that Uganda Law Society should be grounded in the rule of law, responsive to the needs of its members and the public.
This has left only Isaac Ssemakadde Kimazze with Isaac Atukunda in the race to replace Bernard Oundo as Uganda Law Society President. From three to two is a clear indication that there is most likely to be a stiff competition between those that have remained in the race.
