
KAMPALA, Uganda — Victoria University swore in its 8th Guild Government on Friday, marking the official start of Khaukha Emmanuel’s term as guild president.
Emmanuel, a third-year pharmacy student, takes the reins from the outgoing 7th Guild Government, whose members were praised for their leadership and commitment to student welfare.
“We congratulate the 7th Guild Government on a term well served,” the university said in a statement. “Your leadership and commitment to student welfare have positively impacted our community, and your legacy will be felt for years to come.”
Prof. Augustine Osamor Ifelebuegu, deputy vice chancellor for academic affairs, presided over the ceremony, highlighting the importance of student governance in the university’s growth and success.
The university also acknowledged the contributions of Pr. Wilson, saying, “Pr. Wilson, your blessings and words of inspiration have truly ignited a renewed sense of purpose within our community. May your light continue to shine, and may you inspire others to follow in your path.”
The ceremony was attended by students, faculty and guests, who expressed optimism about the future under Emmanuel’s leadership.
As guild president, Emmanuel is expected to build on the achievements of his predecessors and ensure Victoria University remains a top institution of higher learning.
The transition marks a renewed commitment to progress, student empowerment and excellence at the university.
