MENGO– The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga , Prince David Kintu Wassajja and other leaders from the Kingdom (Bataka) have assured the people of Buganda that the Kabaka is not critically ill as its being alleged.
In the press briefing involving all the above stakeholders held at Bulange Mengo on Tuesday, the Katikiro revealed that the Kabaka is currently in Namibia on recommendation of his physicians from Germany.
“The Kabaka for some years now he has been visiting various medical practitioners both within and outside the Country to monitor his health situation. On his recent visit to Germany, he was advised to relieve himself from some duties and rest for some months after establishing that hard work has a negative impact to his life.”
He therefore assured all people that the situation of the Kabaka is not worrying but they should always wait for only official communication from the Katikiro’s office regarding the health of the King.
The Katikiro and the Royal Family would like to thank the people of Buganda who have exhbited patience and discipline during this period.
He further urged all people to distance themselves against acts of spreading fake news with an aim of promoting hatred.

Background
The people were used to Kabaka’s public appearance in most of Buganda Kingdom events like the Kabaka’s Birthday run, His birthday celebrations Bika Cup Tournament finals and Masaza Cup Finals. But for some months now he is not been appearing on these events which left questions in many people’s minds.
Ever since the Kabaka’s photograph while in Namibia appeared on Social media, various people have come up on social media platforms requesting the Kingdom officials to give a clear position on the King’s health condition.
