Kampala ranked 3rd cheapest city for International Schools in Africa

The top 3 most expensive cities are all very close together in terms of median prices for international schools. Nairobi, Johannesburg and Casablanca all have median prices of around $5,300 per year.

A new report on 2023 international school prices in Africa has revealed that Kampala is the third cheapest city out of 75, offering a more affordable option for international education.

According to the report, Kampala’s international schools have a median price of $3,756 per year, making it an attractive option for families seeking quality education at a lower cost.

This ranking is a significant finding, as it highlights Kampala’s competitiveness in the international education market. The city’s affordability, combined with its high standard of education, makes it an appealing choice for both local and expat families.

“Kampala is cheaper than the average city in the world for international schools: 3rd cheapest out of 75 cities, the study showed.

Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Casablanca emerged as the top three most expensive cities for international schools in Africa, with median prices ranging from $5,251 to $5,335 per year.

Cape Town, on the other hand, was found to be the most consistent city in terms of pricing, with a minimum price of $1,967 and a maximum of $5,401 per year.

Kampala’s affordability stands out even more when compared to other major cities in Africa.

For instance, the median price of international schools in Kampala is significantly lower than in Lagos, Nigeria, where the median price is $6,100 per year.

Similarly, Accra, Ghana, has a median price of $5,500 per year, higher than Kampala’s.

The report’s findings highlight Kampala’s competitive edge in the international education market, making it an attractive option for families seeking quality education at a lower cost.
