Uganda’s premier women’s hockey team, Kampala Hockey Swans, is gearing up to represent the nation at the prestigious Africa Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) in Egypt.
The team’s qualification follows their outstanding performance in the 2023 National Hockey League, where they showcased unparalleled skill, determination, and teamwork.
This marks a significant milestone for Ugandan hockey, as the team aims to showcase the country’s talent on the continental stage.
“We are incredibly proud of our achievements and excited to represent Uganda at this highly competitive tournament,” said Vanessa Abeja, Team Captain of the Kampala Hockey Swans.
The ACCC is scheduled to take place in Ismailia, Egypt, from 30 January to 7 February 2024, bringing together the best hockey clubs across Africa.
Under the guidance of their coaching team, the Kampala Hockey Swans have been preparing rigorously for the ACCC, with intense training sessions and strategic planning.
“We are determined to give our best and make Uganda proud,” said Jordan Michael Mpiima, Coach of the Kampala Hockey Swans.
