KAABONG—The Principal of Kaabong Nursing School and several other officials survived a road ambush by suspected Karamojong warriors along Kotido –Kaabong road.
The incident happened at Lopero village in Rengen sub county Kotido district on Tuesday evening.
According to Uganda Radio Network, two armed warriors shot at the car in which the principal Mary Achuma was travelling on a journey to Kaabong from Kotido district.
Kidepo Regional Police Commander Dauda Hiriga says that the two armed warriors were crossing the road when they started shooting at the moving vehicles one of which was carrying the Principal and another which had four soldiers from the Rengen Army barracks.
Hiriga confirmed that no one was injured during the attacks and that the incident was reported to police this afternoon.
He said the joint security forces have commenced investigations into the attack.
Deadly ambushes have persisted in Karamoja despite the increased deployment of armed forces and the ongoing forceful disarmament.
