The judiciary working in hand with family members of the deceased Supreme Court Judge Stella Arach-Amoko have come up with a detailed burrial program.
According to the program released by the Judiciary Public Relations Department on Monday evening, on Tuesday 20th June , there will be a Special Court session at the Judiciary headquarters at 2:00pm. This will be followed by an overnight vigil at the residence in Kinawataka at 6:00pm.
“Wednesday 21st June , There will be a Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Africa Mbuya at 9am. The cortege will then depart for a session in Parliament at 2pm and thereafter the body will lie in State.” reads part of the program
Then on Thursday 22nd June , at 7:00am: the Body will leave Kampala for Adjumani District .200pm: Joint West Nile Districts Council Session at Adjumani District
Headquarters. 6:00pm: Vigil at Una Central vilage, Una Parish, Pachara Sub-county, Adjumani District.
On Friday 23rd June at 8.00am: The Body will leave Una Central Village, Una Parish for Arra Village, Omi Parish, Pachara Sub-County, Adjumani District.
Then after Burrial ceremony will be held at at Ara Village, Omi Parish, Pachara Sub-County Adjumani District starting with a funeral Mass at 10-00am.
The Judiciary has already put in place a condolence book at Judiciary headquarters which will remain open till 23rd June 2023.
Justice Stella Arach Amoko ,69 years passed away on Saturday 18th June 2023 at Nakasero Hospital Kampala .
She has been married with Children , she joined Judiciary in 1997 and she has risen through various ranks until when she was appointed at Supreme Court.
