“I am representing staff, Board and Management here as we give back to the community through this. We believe these items will make a great contribution in lives of these people.” Said Baguma

Baguma added that its always important for organizations to always make contributions aimed at supporting the community.

On receiving the donation John Cliff Wamala , the Communications officer at  Uganda Redcross Society, commended JMS for its supportive heart which has enabled them to remember the displaced people of Kiteezi.

“ All the items they have brought for us are very essential in the lives of these people and the good thing is that they have promised to continue supporting us health wise.”

“Third term is soon opening up and we have 110 learners from Baby Class to Senior six. We are not yet sure whether all these children will return to school due to several challenges.”

Wamala therefore called upon good Samaritans to support these Children with school fees or bursaries, to save them because most of their parents are no longer allowed at the landfill where they used to earn a living.

“As you all can see, we don’t have now the capacity to pay school fees for all these children. KCCA has schools where they could have offered them some bursaries, but the problem Is that the schools are very far from this place and it may require daily transport expenses which majority of these parents can’t afford.”

Red cross also reported that the camp is faced with a challenge of inadequate clean drinking water during this hot season. “The numbers are high and there is a high demand for safe drinking water here, we call upon all good Samaritans for more support.”

On Thursday, all school going children in this camp were offered scholastic materials from the donations which have been brought in from various individuals and Organizations.
