KAMPALA, UGANDA – XM, a global investment services company, has completed its third philanthropic mission to Uganda, strengthening its commitment to supporting education and wellbeing initiatives in the East African nation.
From July 18-25, 2024, XM’s corporate social responsibility team visited various communities in Uganda, building on the company’s seven-year partnership with local organizations.
The mission’s first stop was the Young Comrades school in Wakiso district, where XM officially opened a newly constructed three-storey wing. The facility, which began construction in 2020, provides classrooms and dormitories for over 500 students.
XM team members distributed laptops to teachers, food, clothing, and essential items to students, and spent a day engaging in activities with the children.
In Monte village, the team met scholarship recipients and administered vaccines to local children, accompanied by pediatrician Dr. Argyris Argyriou and orthopedic specialist Dr. Solon Cleanthous.
The mission also visited Agios Dimitrios school, where doctors conducted vaccinations and hygiene education, examined ill children, and provided medication.
XM’s philanthropic efforts in Uganda began in 2017, following a meeting with Father Antonios Mutyaba, a local priest. Since then, the company has supported various initiatives, including school infrastructure development and educational scholarships.
XM’s commitment to Uganda’s communities continues, with ongoing assessments for future projects focusing on education, wellbeing, and equal opportunities.
This mission has not only transformed lives in Uganda but also left a lasting impact on participants, demonstrating the power of selfless giving and unity.
XM’s dedication to philanthropy reflects its corporate values, prioritizing positive change and community empowerment.
As the company looks to future initiatives, its legacy in Uganda serves as a testament to the enduring impact of responsible business practices.
