
Kampala– Investors and decision-makers in the decentralized renewable energy (DRE) sector will gather in Kampala, Uganda, from 8-10 April 2025 for the 10th edition of the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF 2025).
The annual forum, organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and supported by GET.invest, will bring together over 1,000 participants at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The event is held under the patronage of Uganda’s Ministry of Energy & Mineral Development and aims to drive investment in electrification for underserved communities globally.
Uganda’s Role in Energy Access
Uganda’s Minister for Energy & Mineral Development, Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa, emphasized the country’s commitment to energy access and sustainability.
“We are proud to serve as the Patron for EAIF 2025. This Forum presents a unique opportunity to engage in the global conversation on energy access, decarbonisation, and climate action. Let us join forces to drive impactful solutions for the future of energy,” she stated.
Her counterpart, Hon. Okasai Sodranoius Opolot, Uganda’s State Minister for Energy, highlighted the forum’s importance in attracting investment.
“EAIF 2025 is a key milestone in accelerating energy access and investment in Africa. This is a crucial platform where we can collaborate with global leaders and investors to unlock sustainable energy solutions for our communities. Together, we can power the future,” he said.
A Decade of Driving Renewable Energy Investment
This year’s EAIF marks 10 years of catalyzing investments and partnerships in the DRE sector. David Lecoque, CEO of ARE, stressed the forum’s role in global energy transformation.
“EAIF 2025 marks a decade of catalysing investments and partnerships in the DRE sector. This Forum is more than just an event—it is a crucial meeting point where key stakeholders unite to drive real change. By bringing together investors, businesses, and policymakers, we are accelerating energy access and supporting sustainable development across Africa and beyond,” Lecoque said.
The forum will feature matchmaking sessions, interactive discussions, and an exhibition showcasing both local and international companies. On the final day, attendees will participate in workshops and networking receptions.
