KAMPALA – The return of former Member of Parliament Benjamin Cadet to Rubirizi district has sent shockwaves through the community, particularly among his political opponents. Cadet, a staunch supporter of President Yoweri Museveni and General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has been mobilizing support through his pro-Museveni campaigns, focusing on the Parish Development Model and Wealth Creation.

His efforts have resonated with young people, women and religious leaders in Bunyaruguru, posing a significant threat to his competitors. Cadet’s popularity has been evident in his ability to draw large crowds and generate enthusiasm among his supporters.

Despite attempts to discredit him through misinformation and propaganda, Cadet’s popularity remains unwavering. His loyalty to President Museveni and General Muhoozi has earned him a reputation as a trusted ally. In fact, many have come to regard him as “Mzee’s blue-eyed boy,” a testament to his strong relationship with the president.

Recent allegations that Cadet planned to protest against President Museveni’s visit to Ankole have been dismissed as baseless. Pro-Museveni groups have come out in support of Cadet, dismissing the allegations as a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Meanwhile, current MP Twesigye appears to be losing ground. He has stopped attending parliament sessions and instead focuses on social gatherings in the constituency. Locals have reportedly shunned him, further diminishing his chances of re-election,” sources close to him said.

Twesigye’s absence from parliament has not gone unnoticed. His constituents have expressed frustration with his lack of representation, and many are now looking to Cadet as a viable alternative.

Cadet’s team remains committed to uplifting the people of Bunyaruguru from poverty through various initiatives. These include supporting local groups, providing health services and promoting President Museveni’s vision for Uganda.

With his strong mobilization skills and loyalty to the president and General Muhoozi, Cadet’s return to politics is a force to be reckoned with. His supporters are optimistic about his chances, and many believe he will emerge victorious in the next election.
