GOMBA-The Anti corruption Unit of state house working together with Police CID arraigned five suspects before Gomba Chief Magistrates Court.
The suspects namely: Nuwahereza Allan Katakanya, Mudenyi Gerald, Nabimanya David, Ssenoga Abdu and Kisenyi Harunah were charged with forcible entry, forcible detainer, destroying growing plants and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and a felony.
These denied the charges and being that investigations with in the matter were still under way, the trial magistrate remanded them until 19th November 2024.
Prosecution contends that, in September 2024, the accused together with others still at large, under the guise of conducting a boundary opening, violently took possession of over 600 acres of land comprised in FRV 60 folio 4 in Musongole village, Mpenja sub county, Gomba District, belonging Madhvani Group Limited, in the process destroyed tea plantations and over 540 acres of natural forest.
