KAMPALA, Uganda  — MultiChoice Uganda has rehired Collin Asiimwe as its Head of Marketing, tasking him with overseeing the DStv, GOtv, Showmax, and Pearl Magic brands as the company faces a shifting media landscape.

During his previous tenure with MultiChoice starting in 2019, Asiimwe launched several initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic, including new programming, partnerships, and local content platforms like Pearl Magic Prime.

In a statement announcing his return, Asiimwe emphasized the need for businesses to adapt quickly to changing consumer media habits. “I feel that businesses must move at the same speed at which their consumers are moving,” he said. “The voraciousness with which the consumer cycles through media is alarming. The time to adapt and hasten is upon us as a community and business environment.”

Asiimwe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and certifications in digital analytics and growth marketing.

The television industry has faced challenges in recent years, including market contraction, piracy concerns, and increased competition from other entertainment options. “Growth is part of the journey of any exciting career, and I’m excited to be back in the business at such a pivotal time for the industry,” Asiimwe commented.

Asiimwe’s return suggests a renewed focus on marketing strategies to navigate the evolving media environment in Uganda.
