As we start off with the first day of the 2024 National Housing and Population Census that is being conducted by Uganda National Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), here are the some of the questions that Enumerators are going to ask you at your various households.
So incase you are not going to be at home or at the place were the exercise is going to be conducted, at least people who will be found there must have answers for these questions to ease the whole exercise.
Name
– [ ] Sex
– [ ] Date of birth
– [ ] Age
– [ ] Birth registration or certificate
– [ ] NIN(do you have a card or not)
– [ ] Religion
– [ ] Nationality
– [ ] Tribe
– [ ] Clan
– [ ] Parents survival status (alive or deceased)
– [ ] Marital status ( married, divorced, separated, cohabiting, single)
– [ ] Place of birth (where your mother was staying while pregnant with you closely before or at the time you were born)
– [ ] Duration of stay in current residence
– [ ] Previous residence if you recently moved there
– [ ] Why did you move (examples may include for marriage,school, looking for employment etc)
– [ ] Are you covered by health insurance
– [ ] Do you have any Functional difficulties (related to your five senses)
– [ ] School attendance (what is your highest level of education)
– [ ] Occupation e.g. HRM, Procurement Officer, Doctor, Nurse, Security Officer etc
– [ ] Industry (sector where you work) e.g. Health Sector
The main reason for the census results will help the government to generate a benchmark data for planning at the national and lower levels.
The government will be in position to know the accurate count of the population so as to be able to know how many people are living in Uganda, and what are their demographic Characteristics such as their age, sex, Education etc
Where the people live such as in the Districts, Urban, semi- Urban or Rural areas.
How the people Iive such as, in Permanent, semi-permanent or temporary Housing units and other dwelling Characteristics such as lighting sources and Cooking utensils etc
What the people own such as assets. ie vehicles, bicycles, television, radios etc
Where the people access basic social services from; for instance, the distance the nearest school, tarmac road, police station, health facility etc.
How the people live such as, in Permanent, semi-permanent or temporary Housing units and other dwelling Characteristics such as lighting sources and cooking utensils etc
What the people own such as assets i.e vehicles, bicycles, television, radios etc
Where the people access basic social services from; for instance, the distance to the nearest school, tarmac road, police station, health facility etc.
Enumerators in various parts of the country are moving around home to home collecting data for this exercise which will last for ten days.
