
KAMPALA, Uganda — C-Care Uganda and the Rotary Cancer Program Uganda Limited formalized a partnership Monday aimed at boosting cancer awareness, early detection, and access to healthcare in underserved communities.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Namuwongo, Kampala, unites the organizations in their commitment to address the increasing rates of cancer.
Dr. Miriam Musinga Mutero, general manager of C-Care IHK, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating C-Care’s commitment to be the medical partner for Rotary. She noted the widespread impact of cancer across age, race, and gender.
Through this initiative, C-Care Uganda will support 72 community medical outreaches with medical professionals. The company is also committing UGX 73 million in services, including staff time, awareness campaigns, and emergency support. The partnership aims to deliver hope, knowledge, and dignity to individuals in underserved communities by promoting early detection and providing essential medical services.
C-Care Uganda CEO Azhar Sundhoo underscored the organization’s commitment to extending its reach beyond hospital walls to communities with limited access to quality healthcare. He affirmed C-Care’s dedication to partnering with the Rotary Club on healthcare initiatives.
Rtn Ritah Balaka noted the importance of partnerships in Rotary’s impactful work. Dr. Miriam Mutero added that early cancer detection and prevention through awareness and lifestyle changes are crucial for treatment and potential cures.
Both C-Care Uganda and the Rotary Cancer Program expressed confidence in the lasting positive impact of their collaboration on the health and well-being of communities throughout Uganda.
