Bronston Canadian Academy in Uganda has supported its students during the recent fasting periods of Ramadan and Lent, providing a conducive environment for them to observe their faith.
The academy, which offers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) program, ensured that Muslim students had a comfortable space for fasting and prayer, while Christian students observing Lent also received support for their spiritual endeavors.
“We want our students to feel comfortable practicing their faith, regardless of their background,” says Daphne Elva Bukirwa, the academy’s Managing Director.

For Muslim students, the academy provided a conducive environment for fasting and prayer. Christian students observing Lent also received support for their spiritual endeavors.
Bukirwa emphasizes that fasting is a universal practice that transcends faith boundaries. “Fasting is not only in the Islamic faith, but also in other religions, and is critical for general vitality.”

This commitment to interfaith understanding is reflected in the academy’s holistic approach to education.
By offering the OSSD program, the academy provides students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for success in a globalized world.
The academy demonstrates the power of education to promote unity and understanding among people of different faiths.
