Ugandan socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, has found herself in the headlines once again – this time thanks to her ex-fiancé’s shady dealings!
David Greenhalgh, a UK national, has been charged with 12 counts of breaching arms embargoes for allegedly supplying weapons to war-torn countries like Syria, Libya, and Sudan. The arms deals, worth millions, were made between 2009 and 2015 and included Russian fighter jets, air missile systems, and assault rifles. Greenhalgh allegedly used his UK-based company to broker the deals, violating international sanctions.
The two were once lovebirds and business partners, running a real estate company in Uganda. They lived a life of luxury, with Bad Black flaunting her wealth on social media and in Kampala’s trendy hangouts. She was known for her lavish spending, high-end cars, and extravagant lifestyle. However, their romance turned sour when Greenhalgh accused Bad Black of stealing £2.5 million (Shs10.3b) from their company. The messy breakup led to a court battle, with Bad Black ultimately being convicted of fraud in 2012 and sentenced to four years in prison.
