He said this in his message read for him by Bishop Emeritus Eng. George Bagamuhunda of the Diocese of Kigezi today during Bishop Dan Zoreka’s thanksgiving for 13 years as a Bishop at St Peter’s Cathedral, Nyakatare in Kanungu District.

“From the moment you entered this ministry, I have often referred to you as a ‘Miracle’ Bishop. You have not only met but exceeded the expectations of many by emerging as a visionary, missionary, and development-focused Bishop, achieving tangible results in a relatively short span,” Archbishop Kaziimba said.

He added, “Your active participation in the House of Bishops and Provincial meetings especially the Provincial Assembly Standing Committee (PASC) where you represent Bishops, your faithful remittance of Provincial quota, and passionate preaching of the gospel are truly commendable.”

Archbishop Kaziimba lauded Bishop Zoreka for his exceptional leadership when serving as the Acting Dean of the Province, expressing his anticipation of collaborating more closely in the nearest future when he (Bishop Zoreka) assumes the role of Substantive Dean of the Province.

Quoting from Psalms 118:1 and Isaiah 6:1, Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe who was the Preacher of the day taught on the importance of thanksgiving and salvation at individual and family level.

He characterized Bishop Zoreka as a saved leader, a seasoned Bible teacher, an astute leader, a family man, an effective communicator, a proficient time manager, a servant leader with a balanced blend of tenderness and firmness, an advisor, a systematic administrator, a well-organized figure, and one oriented towards development.

Bishop Dan Zoreka, in his address, called for unity among the people to drive community development and transformation forward.

“We must collaborate to leave an enduring legacy in the Church during our time. Let us continue to work as a united team, guided by the Provincial Theme for 2023… ‘United for service and growth,’ as mentioned in Colossians 3:23,” he emphasized.

The former Prime Minister of Uganda and Chairman of the Diocese of Kinkiizi Kampala Fellowship, in a message delivered by Rev. Andrew Agaba, the Fellowship’s Chaplain, praised Bishop Zoreka for his initiatives in establishing projects aimed at promoting self-sustainability within the Diocese and community transformation.

Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Member of Parliament for Kinkiizi East and the ICT Minister, expressed gratitude to Bishop Dan Zoreka for his advocacy in support of peaceful and self-sustainable families, promising continued government support for the development agenda of the Diocese of Kinkiizi.

Eng. Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo, the Kanungu District Chairperson and Chairperson of the Cathedral Expansion committee said that all proceeds from the Thanksgiving ceremony would be allocated towards the restoration and enhancement of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Nyakatare.

He commended Businessman and Philanthropist Dr James Musinguzi Garuga for donating iron sheets worth 100M to the cause and the generosity of Christians that have so far raised over 200M.

Bishop Dan Zoreka was elected the second Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi on 6th October 2010 and consecrated a Bishop on 10th October 2010 by Archbishop Emeritus, Dr Henry Luke Orombi at St Peter’s Cathedral, Nyakatare.

He succeeded Bishop John Wilson Ntegyereize who went to be with the Lord in 2021.
