Peace Service Ambassador Milton Kambula has launched a campaign aimed at reviving African Renaissance through the role of kingdoms, faith and family institutions.
Amb. Kambula who is the President of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Uganda Chapter has since traversed a number of Kingdoms and cultural institutions in the country holding meetings with Kings, clan leaders and other cultural leaders.
The kingdoms and cultural institutions that have so far been visited include; Bunyala, Samia Bugwe, Bumasaba, Tieng Adhola, Sabinyi, Teso, Karamonja, Kumam, Lango, Alur, Madi, Lugbar,
Others kingdoms were Bunyoro, Budingya bwa bamba, Busongora, Bunyabindi, Obugabe bwa Ankole and Obwakamuswaga bwa Kooki.
During the visits, Amb. Kambula revealed that the campaign he has embarked on will champion rebooting, rebuilding, reviving and awakening African Renaissance and Civilization.
“What happened to Africa, very weak in; thinking, seeing the future, innovation, security and culture. This is because we are not united,” Kambula said.
Kambula said that the global North is currently debating how they will launch the second slavery, neocolonialism and the second scramble and partition of Africa.
“It’s so sad that I am not seeing the agenda of Africa being crafted by the people who own Africa; we are still in tribalism which didn’t defend us against the white man when he came here. It actually paved a biggest door for our colonization,” Kambula noted.
The ambassador noted that the revival of African Renaissance will be achieved through implementing a blueprint of culture driven by the family institution so that these families can pave the way for socio-economic transformation of the continent.
“We trust that when families are transformed and they know what to do, it’s just game over for Africa to start walking in the journey of becoming the superpower of the world economically, technologically, culturally and spiritually,” Kambula added.

With every natural resource available in Africa, Kambula believes that what has been missing are the families becoming the engine for delivering the desired culture.
“To be able to eradicate and push back the corruption that government is grappling with, the parents must be empowered with the right culture and mindset and attitude to nurture children of good character, to have integrity, accountability, cultural values of love, of patience, of peace, of dialogue and of forgiveness,” Kambula emphasized.
Kambula observed that the kings who are the light of our society must wake up the population and start inculcating cultural values because religion alone has no impact.
“We have seen it, more religions, more corruption, more conflict, more poverty. So we are saying religion alone will not deliver socio-economic transformation. More politics, more poverty, more conflict, more division; we are saying politics alone will not transform our country. Now, the missing link in culture; when you have a cultured society, you will not have corruption and poverty.”
“What is missing is the culture to open our eyes, to unite ourselves and work together as a family with one culture. One Ugandan culture which embraces unity and diversity which embraces love, hard work, entrepreneurship, business because our grandparents were not lazy, they built the pyramids, everything we have and planted the trees that we are cutting down.”

“Our focus as government, private sector , Kingdoms and religious institutions must be trigged into uplifting families with values and entrepreneurial skills,” He added.
The cultural leaders have since expressed support to the initiative and have pledged to stand behind Amb. Kambula to see that the dream of realizing a strong Africa is achieved.
Speaking about the initiative at his palace in Nakasongola, the Chairperson of the Uganda Kings and Cultural Leaders Forum, His Highness Isabaluri Constantine Mwatyansozi appreciated Amb. Kambula for coming up with such an initiative which is a wakeup call to all cultural leaders in the country.
“Kingdoms and cultural institutions play a big role in the transformation of a society, its time that we all rise up and save our society by revisiting our cultural norms and values, this is what will resurrect the glory of Africa in general,” Isabaluri said.
Amb. Kambula is set to visit other kingdoms in the country as well as meet with other cultural institutions across Africa to revive African Renaissance.
