Kampala, Uganda – Airtel Uganda Limited has announced an interim dividend payout of 83 billion Ugandan shillings ($22m), underscoring the telecoms operator’s strong financial performance.
The dividend payout, which translates to 2.075 Ugandan shillings per share, is a significant boost to shareholders and reflects the company’s commitment to delivering value to its investors.
Airtel Uganda’s strong financial showing is a testament to the growing demand for telecommunications services in Uganda. The country’s telecoms sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years, driven by increasing mobile penetration and data usage.
The company’s dividend payout is also seen as a positive indicator for the broader Ugandan economy, which has been experiencing steady growth despite challenges in the global economy.
“Airtel Uganda’s interim dividend payout is a clear demonstration of our commitment to creating value for our shareholders,” said Dennis A. Kakonge, Company Secretary. “We remain focused on delivering innovative and affordable telecommunications services to our customers, while driving growth and profitability for our business.”
The dividend payout is expected to be completed by January 3, 2025.
