OLD KAMPALA – His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has sent a condolence message to His Royal Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, members of the royal family, and the entire Buganda Kingdom following the passing of the Kabaka’s elder brother, Prince Daud Ssimbwa Golooba.

Prince Golooba passed away on Monday and is being be laid to rest this afternoon, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Kasubi Royal Tombs.
In a letter dated February 25, 2025, and written on his behalf by Hon. Hadji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, Mufti Mubaje expressed deep sorrow over Prince Golooba’s passing. He conveyed condolences on behalf of himself and the entire Muslim community, recognizing that the late prince had reverted to Islam and lived his adult life as a devoted Muslim.
“We are fully aware that the late Prince Daud Ssimbwa Golooba embraced Islam and remained steadfast in his faith until his passing on a strong foundation of Al-Kalimah:
Ashhadu an lā ilāha illa-llāh wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan rasūlu-llāh—‘I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Almighty Allah, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His Messenger.’”
The Mufti concluded by praying for Almighty Allah to grant Prince Golooba divine mercy and forgiveness.
