Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the highly anticipated Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) 2024 results today, Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Education Minister Janet Museveni presided over the release of results at State House, Nakasero, at 11:00 am.
A total of 379,748 candidates sat for the UCE examinations between October and November 2024, marking a significant milestone as the first assessment under the new lower secondary curriculum. To ensure a smooth transition, candidates sat for two separate sets of exams: one under the new curriculum and another referred to as the “transition examination”.
This is the second batch of national exam results to be released by UNEB this year, following the release of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) 2024 results in January.
The UCE results are highly anticipated, determining the future academic prospects of students. UNEB’s theme for the 2024 exams, “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” reflects the board’s commitment to adapting to the changing educational landscape.
Meanwhile, UNEB has warned schools to settle all outstanding invoices to avoid being blocked from receiving the 2024 results. No results will be issued without total debt settlement.
Candidates can access their results through the following channels:
– Mobile Short Message Service (SMS): Using the UNEB USSD code
– UNEB e-portal: Through school examination centers
– Hard Copies: Available for collection from the UNEB offices in Ntinda
The release of the UCE results is a critical milestone in the education sector, and their release is eagerly awaited by students, parents, and educators across the country.
