Electrify Africa, an initiative by Simba Innovative Limited, aims to promote a sustainable, community-centered electric mobility ecosystem that reduces carbon emissions, promotes economic opportunities, and makes EV charging accessible to all.

At the heart of Electrify Africa’s innovative approach is its community-driven model, which enables individuals and local businesses to become part of a larger EV charging network. This model fosters economic empowerment and environmental sustainability, allowing charger owners to generate income through user fees.

“We are thrilled to launch Electrify Africa, a revolutionary step towards transforming Uganda’s electric mobility landscape,” said a spokesperson for Electrify Africa. “Our community-driven approach empowers local stakeholders, ensuring that the benefits of electric mobility extend beyond environmental gains to include tangible economic opportunities for communities.”

Key initiatives under Electrify Africa include:

  1. Scalable EV Charging Network: Electrify Africa is rapidly deploying EV chargers across urban and rural areas, with a focus on affordability and accessibility.

  2. Affordable Charging Solutions: To lower entry barriers, Electrify Africa provides buyers with affordable, high-quality chargers specifically designed for African markets.

  3. Education and Sensitization Campaigns: The Tesla Model X roadshow and city drives serve to demystify electric mobility while showcasing the simplicity and benefits of joining the EV network.

These campaigns educate communities on how to invest in and operate chargers, as well as the environmental and economic advantages of electric mobility.

The launch of Electrify Africa marks a significant milestone in Uganda’s journey towards a sustainable transportation sector. With its innovative approach and commitment to community empowerment, Electrify Africa is poised to play a leading role in shaping the future of electric mobility in Uganda and beyond.
