Kampala, Uganda – A 20-year-old woman, Babirye Sumaya, is set to be arraigned at the Wakiso Magistrate Court today for her alleged involvement in human sacrifice.
According to police sources, Sumaya worked as a maid and confessed to stealing children specifically for human sacrifice. Her arrest comes after a successful rescue operation, which saved an 8-year-old child from her clutches.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend others involved in the alleged human sacrifice ring.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure that all those involved in this heinous crime are brought to justice,” Owoyesigyire said.
The case has sent shockwaves across the country, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the public to combat human trafficking and related crimes.
Sumaya’s arraignment is expected to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the alleged human sacrifice, as well as the extent of the involvement of other suspects.
