KAMPALA, Uganda — MTN Uganda unveiled significant upgrades to its WakaNet Home broadband service on Friday, November 1, 2024, bolstering its commitment to delivering high-quality digital services.
The revamped service boasts improved pricing, increased speeds, and expanded product offerings, aligning with MTN’s Ambition 2025 vision.
“We believe everyone deserves reliable and high-speed internet, whether they are relaxing or working from home,” said Franklin Ocharo, MTN Uganda’s General Manager for Growth and New Business. “Our enhanced WakaNet service reflects our dedication to affordable, top-quality broadband solutions.”
Key enhancements include:
— Increased fiber speeds by up to six times, with entry packages starting at 60Mbps for 130,000 Ugandan shillings (approximately $35 USD) monthly.
— Removal of usage caps for fiber packages.
— Free 5G routers with package purchases starting at 130,000 Ugandan shillings monthly.
— Reduced 4G router prices from 130,000 to 99,000 Ugandan shillings.
— Affordable data packages starting at 55,000 Ugandan shillings monthly.
— Introduction of smart security cameras for home monitoring.
MTN WakaNet offers home broadband services in Uganda, featuring various speed plans and pricing options for residential customers.
With these upgrades, MTN Uganda reaffirms its position as a leader in the Home Broadband market, providing affordable, reliable, and high-speed internet coupled with best-in-class customer support.
