KAMPALA – Uganda Manufacturer’s Association (UMA) has finalized preparations for the 30th International Trade fair scheduled to kick off on Wednesday 2nd October 2024 at Lugogo UMA show grounds.
On addressing the press at Lugogo on Tuesday, organizers have revealed that over 1000 local exhibitors and 450 foreign exhibitors have already set up their stalls with goods at discounted prices to all those who will turn up.
“We have organized a lot entertainment and learning for our students who will be visiting the trade fair. We have put in place a separate section of innovation in education where children will learn more about technology as well as acquiring knowledge from a team of scientists.” remarked Eddie Senkumba, Chairman for communication and Events in UMA
He pointed out that students and pupils below eighteen years will be allowed in the trade fair between 8.30 am to 4 pm as one of the measures to maintain their safety.
Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson assured Ugandans that working with other sister security agencies have deployed enough personnel to ensure that people enjoy the trade fair in peace.
“As security we are ready, done allow the necessary assessment and proper counter measures as we plan for the worst and hope for the best. I encourage all groups of people to coordinate with our security people whenever you’re asked to do so.”
Onyango also asked people to avoid coming with sharp objects like mirrors, knives , nails and some liquids because security will not allow anybody to carry them inside for the good of other Ugandans.
Dax Kartel ,one of the entertainers who have been lined up for the trade fair promised that they will ensure that all people get value for the money they pay at entrance.
Comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi (comedian) vowed to utilize this trade fair to give back to Ugandans who have supported him In this industry for the last 25 years.
“As the official MC for this year’s trade fair, I call upon all students to come in large numbers in this year’s trade fair because we shall not only entertain them , but we shall be educating them.”
The organizers have maintained the entrance fee of ten thousand shillings to all adults as it was during last year so as to enable all people to have a chance to participate.
Government Agencies like Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda Registration Bureau (URSB) , NIRA have already set up stalls to assist all people who will be in need of their services.
The Sponsors for this year are Megha foam, Total , roofing, Hisense, Tembo, Eurofoam, Biyinzika, Royal foam, Kibokon and Good briquettes initiative.
The Fair will run from Wednesday 2nd October to 10th October 2024 with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the guest of Honor on 4th October for the official opening ceremony.
