KAMPALA– The International University of East Africa (IUEA) in Kampala has announced that all is set for the first International Youth Festival 2024 scheduled to be held in Uganda.
While speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the festival at IUEA campus in Kansanga, Prof.Emeka Akaezuwa the Vice Chancellor of the University, revealed that this will be a great opportunity for students in Uganda to share experiences with their colleagues from various parts of the world.
“We’ll be hosting the International Youth Festival 2024 with the unique intention to celebrate, give back to community but also unpack narratives around Culture, Music, and Tourism combined with Technology, Business, and Cultural Exchange.”
Prof. Emeka also noted that this festival is not only for those that subscribe to IUEA but for all students all over. “Students will have an opportunity to learn more about technology and innovations from their colleagues across the globe. They will also have an opportunity to also share their skills with other students.”
Dr. Lakshmi Bhabuu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for IUEA revealed that the festival will connect youth with global and national actors. “Setting a stage for them to showcase talents and drive meaningful conversations around Music, Culture, Business, and Technology. Everyone is invited.”
Mugwanya Kevin a representative from Eastern Vibe , one of the organizers called upon all students to come turn up in large numbers to the festival in Jinja to learn amidst entertainment from both local and International artists.
“We welcome all students with various forms of entertainment to register with us because we shall have a slot for their to show case their talents.”
Solomon Musa, Social affairs Minister at IUEA guild called upon fellow GenZs to join them for this event which has been organized with special consideration for them.
The launch of this event was attended by Artists like Nina Roz (student at IUEA), Allien Skin, Pinky and Pretty Banks.
This is the first youth focused international event bringing together Culture, Music and Tourism with insightful discussions on Technology, Business and Cultural Exchange.
It will be hosted through IUEA’s Faculty of Business and Management (Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management) starting with an event at IUEA on 4th October 2024 then culminates into a Fest in Jinja on 5th of October 2024.
