KAMPALA, UGANDA – National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has announced the passing of his grandfather-in-law, Mzee Ernest Nvunganyi.
The announcement was made on Monday evening, following Mzee Nvunganyi’s death on August 19, 2024.
In a statement, Bobi Wine expressed his deep sorrow and regret over the loss, describing Mzee Nvunganyi as a gentle soul. “I regret to announce the passing of my grandfather-in-law, Mzee Ernest Nvunganyi of Rukanda, Rwentobo-Ntungamo District. May the almighty God receive his gentle soul,” he said.
Mzee Nvunganyi, a resident of Rukanda, Rwentobo-Ntungamo District, was the grandfather of Ms. Barbara Itungo Kyagulanyi, Bobi Wine’s wife. The family is currently mourning the loss, and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
Bobi Wine’s announcement was met with an outpouring of condolences from supporters and fellow politicians, who expressed their sympathy and support during this difficult time.
