Police working with other individuals and Organizations involved in rescuing victims who were affected by the collapsing of Kiteezi Land fill on Wednesday discovered more dead bodies.
According to Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson by close of Thursday, they had recovered more four dead bodies being covered under the rubbish.
” The total number of bodies recovered so far is 34. This figure is released at 6:30pm. The identity of the four bodies that were recovered are: Nassiwa Leticia aged 9 years, Nakalema Benitta aged 1 year, Katerega Simon aged 6 years and Nakitto Moureen aged 29 years.”
Onyango added that, all the above bodies were identified by Nakabiri Margret, a resident of Bukomero Nakiluli Kiboga district and Lukanga Fred.
On operating during evening hours, Onyango noted that the main challenge that is affecting operations after day hours is the bad weather.
On Saturday morning the mountain of rubbish collapsed at Kiteezi a city suburb covering close to 30 homesteads.
Its believed that over 50 people are still covered by rubbish and rescue team consisting of Uganda Red cross , Uganda , Residents and other stakeholders are searching for the missing people.
