KAMPALA — In a major shake-up, the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abbas Byakagaba, has reorganized the police hierarchy, resulting in significant changes to the force’s leadership.
Notably, the long-serving police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, has been replaced by ACP Rusoke Kituuma. Enanga has been reassigned to serve as the Deputy Director of Interpol.
Richard Echega has been appointed as the new Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, with ACP Twishime Gerard serving as his deputy. SSP Seguya has been appointed as RPC KMP East, while SSP Nanoka has been appointed as RPC KMP North. Ziwede has been appointed as CP Curriculum, and SCP Steven Tanui, formerly KMP Commander, has been reassigned as Deputy Director Fire.
CP Namuwoza has been appointed as CP Fire, SPC Nanding as Commandant PSU, CP Kibwika as HRM Oil and Gas, Nyabongo ACp Mastura as Tourism, and Muheirwe as Baracks.
