KAMPALA, UGANDA —Mzee Ephraim Bimanywa, the paternal uncle of President Yoweri Museveni, has passed away at the age of 105. The deceased was a respected elder and a pillar of strength to the President’s family.
Prime Minister Robinnah Nabbanja extended her condolences to the President and the family, saying, “I extend heartfelt condolences to H.E @KagutaMuseveni and the entire family, on the passing on of Uncle Ephraim Bimanywa. May the Almighty God Comfort you in this moment of grief and grant Mzee Bimanywa’s soul eternal rest.”
A funeral service was held at Mzee Bimanywa’s home in Masha, Isingiro district, where speakers praised his achievements and contributions. Michael Nuwagira, also known as Toyota, a younger brother to President Museveni, eulogized the deceased for his love and care towards the President’s family and his own.
Mzee Bimanywa was also hailed for his work in the church and his commitment to his community. He will be laid to rest today, May 31.
The President’s family and friends have gathered to pay their respects to the late Mzee Bimanywa, a man who will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, and dedication to his family and community. May his soul rest in peace.
