NAMIREMBE– The House of Bishops sitting at the Provincial Secretariat at Namirembe on Wednesday elected Rev Canon Paul Hannington Suubi as the first Bishop of East Busoga Diocese.
According to Balaam Muheebwa, the Acting Provincial Secretary, the new Bishop will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop of East Busoga Diocese on Sunday 19th November 2023 at St Stephens Pro Cathedral, Bugiri.
Bishop Elect Suubi is married to Dr. Margaret Stella Suubi and God has blessed them with three Biological children.
He was ordained a Deacon in August 1993 and ordained a Priest in 1997.
He holds a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity.
He currently serves as Assistant Vicar at St Andrew’s Church of Uganda, Jinja. His ministry has been mainly in schools where he served as the longest serving Chaplain at Busoga College Mwiri.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1994 when he realized that he could not walk alone but rather in Jesus Christ, inspired by St Paul in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Jesus Christ, it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me and the life I now live in the fresh, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
